CIPR Sports Network

About Us

Welcome to the CIPR Sports Network, your home for Sports Communication news, industry insight and events.

Sport is big business, with billions pumped into professional sport by sponsors and partners every year.

Sports stars, clubs and organisations are seen as role models and key members of local communities as well as holding global appeal.

Sports PR is a huge sector, working with sponsors, athletes, clubs, governing bodies, events, charities and other connected organisations.

Sport transcends boundaries and brings people together, touching the lives of almost everyone in one way or the other.

Sport also has a significant ESG element to it, which has taken centre stage thanks to the activities of athletes such as footballer Marcus Rashford, professional sports clubs and charities seeking to bridge the gaps between the under-privileged and under-resourced facilities and community provisions that have seen significant cut-backs in the past decade and which have been exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sport also has its fair share of controversies and crises, all of which can provide the CIPR with opportunities to remind members and the wider public that communications can and should have seats at the top table and be seen as more than just monotone interviews, spin and sports-washing.
